Evaluation and Comments:
I grew up reading Corduroy so it holds a special place in my heart. As the reader, we see the world through Corduroys eyes and join him in is journey in doing what he can so that one day, he can find his way home. He finally finds a person who can take him home but he won't let a missing button stop him!
Corduroy is such a short and sweet story that I would definitely have in my classroom. The story of a lonely bear who manages to find a friend is a great message to send to younger children; that all it takes is a little patience to find that one person who'll love you for who you are (missing button and all). You could then follow up the reading with a fun art activity in which students create their own friend (their Corduroy) and then share it to the class.
In conclusion, Corduroy has my seal of approval! 🥇😄
