Evaluation and Comments:
The Alaska Mother Goose is a great way for students to travel without having to leave the comfort of the classroom. Through each page, we are introduced to a new and unique animal that will fascinate the students and make them feel as if they are in Alaska themselves.
The simplicity of the book works well with younger students. With all the information it provides in terms of animals and their habitat, this book will be a great addition if the class is learning about wildlife animals and or learning about the North. Also, a cool feature of this book is that there is a glossary in the back that provides fun facts about all the animals introduced in the book.
To help students recall the information, an assignment the students can do is list the animals they heard from the story and then write/state one thing that they remembered from the reading. You can also talk about the animals and discuss the similarities/difference between Alaska and Texas.
In conclusion, The Alaska Mother Goose has my seal of approval! 🥇😄
